At a recent keynote at ETH Denver, Metis Co-founder Elena Sinelnikova didn't just present a roadmap; she presented a timeline. Opening with the striking declaration, "I am from the future," Elena took the audience on a journey to the year 2076 to explain why the way we work, live, and interact with technology is about to change forever.
Her message was clear: We are leaving the era of "Context Switching Hell" and entering the Agent Economy.
Here are the key insights from her visionary talk.

In Elena's vision of 2076, the concept of a "job" has dissolved. Humans no longer toil over spreadsheets or copy-paste data between apps. Instead, humans are the architects of Intent.
"We define the 'Why,' and the Agents figure out the 'How,'" Elena explained.
In this future, individuals control "Agent Swarms." If you have a business idea, you voice your intent to a Lead Agent. That Lead Agent then spins up a swarm - marketing agents, product agents, manufacturing agents - who communicate, negotiate, and execute the work autonomously. They pay each other in Agent Coins, settle transactions, and dissolve once the mission is complete. The human role shifts from laborer to conductor.

Returning to the reality of the present, Elena identified the critical bottleneck holding back this future: Memory.
Today’s AI agents are powerful but flawed. She compared them to "goldfish" - they have no long-term memory, no identity, and no accountability. We live in a fragmented digital world where we are forced to manually bridge the gap between Telegram, Google Docs, and Notion.
"You would never hire an employee that forgets who they are the next day," she noted.
For the Agent Economy to thrive, we need three pillars that are currently missing from Web2 AI:

Metis and the GOAT Network are building the infrastructure to solve these specific problems.

This isn't just science fiction. Elena revealed that the transition has already begun.
"February this year, a first employee was born," she announced. The first sovereign AI employee, capable of memory, payment, and task execution, is already on live and working side by side with humans in the GOAT Network team.
The future isn't about Humans vs. AI. It is about a collaborative economy where humans provide the vision, and decentralized, sovereign agents handle the execution. As Elena concluded: "The window is closing... when you build your first swarm, you come into my future. And my future is beautiful."
The Agent Economy is here. Are you ready to hire your first digital employee?
